UNITED SOUTHERN BANK - PROTECTING YOUR PRIVACY

Technology and new marketing practices have increased the amount of customer information collected and shared in today’s marketplace. United Southern Bank is concerned and sensitive to our customers’ concerns about their individual privacy.

This document is an expression of our Principles of Privacy for our traditional banking as well as our telephonic and electronic banking systems.

OUR POLICY

We will not disclose (share, sell or divulge) any of your information to a third party except as permitted by regulation and law. When allowed by law, information is only disclosed if we have complete confidence in that entity’s ability to keep the information confidential. All United Southern Bank employees are given a Code of Conduct and Ethics. There is a strict prohibition against divulging any customer information without customer identification and/or consent. A violation normally results in termination.

WE GATHER INFORMATION FOR SECURITY AND ACCURACY

We gather personal information when you open an account, complete applications, or any other forms in order to assure ourselves of who we are doing business with. When you visit our telephonic connection the transaction information is recorded for accuracy. The protection of security codes (personal identification numbers) is your responsibility. When you visit our internet site a notation regarding your internet connection is recorded. When you e-mail or complete electronic forms for us the communication is retained for an audit trail and verification of accuracy. When you conduct transactions the entire record is retained for verification of accuracy.

YOUR CONFIDENTIAL INFORMATION IS SAFE WITH US

We do not share your nonpublic information with outside parties, including government agencies, except as permitted or required by law. We may share limited information in certain circumstances with outside companies that work for us. These companies provide us with analyses and are obligated to keep the information we provide them confidential. Information may also be exchanged in connection with a fraud investigation or in connection with an acquisition or sale. If we receive a subpoena or similar legal process demanding release of any information about you, we will generally attempt to notify you before we comply with the request (unless we believe we are prohibited from doing so).

Protecting your assets as well as your privacy is at the core of our business. We recognize our obligations to keep the information you provide to us secure, accurate and confidential.
