Jason McCray is a Vice President of Commercial Banking in Leesburg and The Villages at United Southern Bank (USB), with nearly 20 years in banking.
Born in Pennsylvania and raised in Florida since 1986, Jason is proud to be an alum of Leesburg High School and Florida State University, where he earned his degree in finance. He dreamt of big-city life and moved to Tampa. After residing there for a few years, Jason’s heart led him back to Lake County, where family roots and community hold the greatest meaning to him. Jason acknowledges his parents for shaping his character. His mother, a teacher, and his father, a social worker, inspired his dedication to service and integrity.
Jason’s banking career began as a management trainee at a large community bank, where he quickly moved into commercial lending and then eventually managed the entire commercial loan department. After nearly two decades in banking and a brief stint working remotely as a commercial underwriter, he joined USB in mid-2024.
Jason was drawn to USB by his respect for its leadership and their shared values.
Now, Jason resides in Fruitland Park with his wife of 16 years, a third-grade teacher at Villages Charter School, and their seven-year-old daughter, who is the joy of their lives. Outside of work, Jason is an avid runner, starting his days with six-mile runs before dawn.
At USB, Jason combines his passion for finance and his belief in community banking to make a positive impact on local businesses and families. With a career built on "doing the right things for the right reasons," he excels at understanding the unique needs of his borrowers, whether it's helping a business grow, analyzing real estate investments, or simply connecting over shared values during a lunch meeting. Jason’s ability to combine financial expertise with genuine care for his clients aligns perfectly with USB's mission.
